Nobody succeeds at everything they do. In some ways that is actually reassuring. Failing isn’t necessarily a bad thing as it only teaches you what ways NOT to do something. If you fall down, get back up again. You only fail if you stay down. If you don’t succeed at first, try different methods. If you have a goal you want to achieve, then persist. The more you persist, the closer you’ll get and the more you learn.
If your endeavours prove to be impossible for you to deal with and you have given 100%, at least you can say you have given it your best shot but never give up easily. Use not only all the brains you have but all those you can borrow. Let other people help you because you can’t do everything on your own.
Nothing worthwhile is ever easy. Focus, persist and work hard to achieve your goals. Don’t get distracted by things that have no bearing on your goals or you’ll never succeed. It’s fine to take a break to refresh yourself but don’t forget about the work you’re doing. Stay positive and you’ll get there in the end!

Getting distracted by e-mails, of which I get thousands every month, and by family obligations, seems to be a major handicap for many of us trying to maintain our own web sites. Persistence is a two edged sword: is it good work ethics or obstinacy?
To stay positive when things go wrong or no progress seems to happen, one must not focus on the outgoing waves but on the constant incoming waves of eventual success, greatness, and wealth and happiness. And on that note, happiness is relevant. To some it is wealth, to others it is good health or love. Giving up is not an option because the waves of life continue to come in and hope, faith, and charity are all three essential partners to ensure that we all can see that the correct incoming wave for us is always getting nearer.

Excellent advice, Laurence! I’ve often read of Thomas Edison who had MANY failures before finally inventing a light bulb that worked that “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Thanks for your encouragement. We need it!

Hey, Laurence:
Love the motivational tone, I was on a similar kick yesterday myself. I thought I’d visit you from the honest forum and see what you were up to.
Cheers.
