Personally I have used PayPal occasionally for 4 years without any problems.
I did find out that if I have less than $15 in my account, I can use the funds to pay for something but cannot withdraw it via bank deposit transfer unless I would want to close the PayPal account after paying a transaction fee.
PayPal is not the cheapest such service but certainly the most reliable. Read the recommended book and discover how to use PayPal with complete security.
