I offer a resume writing service but I get a lot of enquiries from people who don’t really understand what a resume is and how important a good one will be for their career so I will explain this further shortly.

First I must cover a serious problem that cropped up while I was helping somebody with their resume.

This was his thought process:

I guess the CV must have some significant problems as I tried for 3 months to get jobs (professional management analytics jobs) and didn’t get a single interview.

Don’t even dare to assume this is the case!!!

You can have years of expertise doing the sort of work the recruiter is looking for. However, there are many possible reasons why you missed out on the job:

* Sometimes companies hire internally but are legally forced to advertise outside as well.

*  You have no idea who, and how many, people are competing with you for this role and many of them may have  similar experiences to you.

* You may not be dressed appropriately (and I can share a few of those types of examples).

* You may be the last candidate for the day and the interviewer has already decided who they want to hire, but they must still conduct the interviews.

So don’t ever blame yourself for missing out on a job unless you did it deliberately for some reason.

If you want to get a job, you need interviews. To get interviews, you need to attract the attention of the recruiter. You do this by having a resume that’s clearly written and is easy to read in a few seconds because you only have 10 seconds to make a good impression. If you don’t, your resume will be deleted as there can be up to 300 people competing for the same role.

If you hire someone to do your resume for you, make sure they know what they’re doing and don’t be afraid to spend money to get it done. Once it’s completed, it serves as a template for all future jobs.

So if you need help with your resume, please ask as I’m only too happy to do so (for a fee, of course).

I’m a former recruiter, employer and marketing manager so I know what people want in a resume and what they DON’T want as well. Clarity is the key.

Please don’t ask me for a “sample resume” because you would simply use that to improve your current resume and then you won’t need my help.

I have helped hundreds of people with resumes. Many of them have gotten interviews as a result and some have secured jobs because of the resume and how they presented themselves during the interviews. There’s no better success statement than that!

Feel free to ask me questions. Taking this step will benefit you enormously in the long run.
